“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full”
John 15:11
Jesus has given us His joy and what He meant by that is Him dying on the cross. He gave up His life wholeheartedly… doing God’s will with joy.
He has set an example as to what His joy is… it didn’t mean we should go get nailed to the cross but what He meant is that there is joy in serving God. There is joy with giving your life up for God. Let’s compare it…
In all honesty what is the difference between:
- Your parents asking you to do a chore or run an errand… let’s say buy butter at Superstore (yes I know it’s not much of an errand).
- Your boyfriend/girlfriend ask you to buy her butter.
In my personal experience.. both scenarios are the same its just it came from two different people. As a brat(yes yes I admit…lol) and a lazy guy(and this too), when my parents ask me to do something… I feel like I don’t want to do it and I’m just forcing myself to do it BUT when the girl I’m dating or girlfriend asks me to do it, I do it with a happy heart all willing and everything. Actually true story, this girl I liked before and she’s really attractive… asked me to buy her pads(yeah.. the one you girls use during…) and me wanting to impress her did it in a heartbeat with full of joy in my heart because I just wanted to do it for her because she was beautiful and I liked her; if my mom asked me to do such a task, I’d prolly say no and tell her that it’s weird. We should treat our service to God just the same as how I did with the girl I liked.. let us not give our life to God and go on music practice or prayer meetings because we have to, we should do it because we joyfully want to serve our God… to be closer to Him. We love God right? so if your answer is yes, then let’s do the things we do for God with a joyful heart just like doing something for our girlfriend/boyfriend(for the girls).

“Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
Luke 10:20
This verse revealed to me what I needed to tell my friend yesterday night. I was talking to her about my faith and personal relationship with God and she doesn’t know much except believe in God and follow His teachings. God is truly amazing because we plan on speaking again today for the conversation yesterday was cut short because it was already 2 am.
But what this verse is telling me is that we shouldn’t rejoice because of what we have done for God but we should rejoice because we have a real relationship with God that He knows us to the point where our names are written in heaven. Like what it said on Utmost.org, “It is the work that God does through us that counts, not what we do for him”.. and He cannot work through us if we don’t have a personal relationship with Him, if He is not in the center of our hearts.
Simply put, we’re doing all this to get to heaven and to be with our father… that is our goal. Everything we do for God is a building block to get us closer to Him. Like in a race, we don’t celebrate because we’re running the race… we celebrate because we finished it.
This time, I really mean it when I say
every heartbeat…
for your glory.

“Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”
Luke 11:1
Prayer is usually looked upon as a chore by some people. Some only do it when they’re at the end of the rope, when they’re desperate. In all honesty, I used to see prayer as a tool for asking for forgiveness or asking something from God but I was wrong. Prayer is more than that. Prayer is a means of getting to know God… just like when you’re in a relationship with your girlfriend or boyfriend, you get to know them by talking to them on the phone for like 4 to 5 hours and when you’re done on the phone, you text each other throughout the day.. lol I would know ‘cause I do that too! But in all seriousness, we should see prayer as a way of communicating with God to get to know Him, to feed our spiritual lives to make them grow in His light. We should treat prayer like we’re talking to our bestfriends, where you say anything that comes out of your heart. Maintain that communication with the Lord for He is always there to listen not only during your hard times, but your times of success as well. Just like a dad or a mom who delight in their children’s stories… so is our God. We all know He knows everything about us but it shows that you care and love Him when you take the time to communicate with Him.
Communication is a two-way street; we can’t let God do all the talking because how would we get to know Him if we don’t talk to Him
Healthy relationships are based on communication…
-When Five Fell, Wong Fu Productions
We all want a healthy relationship with God right? Then we have to keep that communication with Him and the only way to do it is through prayer.
So, I’ve been reading some of your posts and I’ve been noticing that some of you are concerned that you cannot feel God anymore. I want to tell you that the Christian life is not all about experiences, crying, bawling your eyes out, falling down, being ravaged by your emotions.
THE CHRISTIAN…
Loving the world instead of my God is a game I will always lose…
I got the love-God blues…
” —“Jesus said to her, ‘Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?’”
John 11:40
I am so blessed right now with this word of God because I am at this situation where I have to completely trust God because I’m waiting to get into the next term for my school. When I first heard the news that the program was full but I’m being waitlisted just incase someone drops out, my heart sank. I started to lost hope but from that day on, I’ve been bombarded with God’s word of encouragement that His plan for my life is taking its course. I am praying and F.R.O.G.-ing on God =].. (Fully Rely On God) with this one. I am praying to get into the program but if it’s not His will then I told Him that I won’t be disappointed because I am trusting Him completely.
Just like when Yoda told Luke Skywalker to believe in the force and after that moment he got to accomplish great things and even save everyone from the Galactic Empire that Darth Vader is leading (sorry for sounding like a geek but I am a star wars fan.. ahah). I will also believe in God and that He has planned great things in my life. God’s glory is not about miracles and only impossible things, it is also the answers that we get for our prayers. If we pray fully believing in God, He will answer them. Now as God answers our prayers, we must have an open mind because it doesn’t always result in “yes”.. God’s success in our lives is different in His eyes than the world’s. We may ask for one thing and not receive it but don’t lose hope nor question God because He always has something better planned for our lives. He always wants the best for us just like what He said in Jeremiah 29:11 “‘For I know the plans I have for you’ says the Lord,’plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’”.
So whether we get the things we ask from God, we shouldn’t let our faith waver just because we didn’t get what we asked for, it only means He has other plans in our lives or it’s not the right time yet.
As for me, whether I get into school this October or not… I will still love the Lord no matter what. For I know and I believe like to the max 100 percent that whatever happens, His plan in my life will unfold and His plan is not to lead me to failure but success.
By simply believing in Christ even though reasoning doesn’t make sense… that’s when we’ll see His glory.

I could’ve lived my life and have done everything in this world…
but without meeting God, my life would mean nothing.
