Being a Christian is more than just the works, the Sunday services, etc. Part of being a Christian is to be constantly stirred up by God. The continual evolution of our characteristics and spiritual standing. Being a Christian requires us to continuously grow. When bad things happen we cannot simply just take refuge and make ourselves feel better by reading the word or doing the service, we have to grow from the experience. Instead of patching our hurts, we have to realize Christ more. 

How can we be the salt and light of the earth if we keep God to ourselves? Loving God means stepping out of our comfort zone whatever it may be to grow in our spiritual walk. Spread God’s love and encourage one another. Do not sit idly by and wait for someone else to do it. You never know what you would learn unless you go out and seek it.
